About Suzy Bogguss
Every artist has a tipping point in their career where creativity, tenacity and talent align to produce something truly special, for Suzy Bogguss, that was Aces. Coming off her second album on Capitol Nashville, Aces was co-produced by Bogguss, a rare feat at the time, and released August 27, 1991. It certified Platinum and yielded four memorable Top 10 radio singles: “Outbound Plane,” “Someday Soon,” “Aces,” and “Letting Go.” To celebrate the 25th Anniversary Suzy has re-recorded Aces with some of Nashville’s top players in her latest offering, Aces Redux. “I love to play the radio hits from Aces every night,” explains Suzy, “but in truth, every single song on that record gets requested at my live shows. So for the first time in awhile I went back and listened to the album start to finish. The songs are timeless, but over the past 25 years I feel like I’ve grown as a vocalist, and when we started recording Aces Redux I got so excited because these songs took on a whole new life that is more representative of who I am and what I do now." The original Aces was an inspiration for others as well: "My absolute favorite song and performance on the record is 'Part of Me.' Suzy's interpretation of it never gets old and never fails to move me to tears." - Brandy Clark "It was an outstanding work of art that any female artist forging into the landscape at that time considered to be one of those records that set 'the bar,' and set it high." - Terri Clark Although the Platinum selling album propelled Suzy to new heights, her career did anything but plateau. One of the most diverse female artists in country music, she is a CMA, ACM, and ASCAP Award Winner. She recorded a duets album with the legendary Chet Atkins, made an album of modern swing music with Ray Benson of Asleep At The Wheel, and landed on the jazz charts with an original album Sweet Danger. In 2004 she added GRAMMY winner to her list of accolades for her work on Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster.

Loved the venue, great site lines and acoustics. But the performance with Suzy and Kathy by far exceeded my expectations. They managed to make me very happy. Thought I’m not as familiar with Kathy’s voice over the years (it’s great regardless), but is it possible Suzy’s is even better now than when she recorded Aces. I wasn’t the only one who thought so. Great all around experience! They’re perfect together!

Suzy Bogguss and her two man band..sounded great. They played Merle Haggard standards and of course her hits. They have a tight sound and play a marriage country, rock, and jazz. Suzy’s voice sounds strong and excited to be on stage. It’s nice to go see someone who is a songbird, singer/songwriter, and entertainer who engages you to be apart of the show.

Suzy's beautiful voice is still incredible as is her stage presence and guitar work. Doing an acoustical performance with Kathy Mattea was a bonus; they harmonize on each others's songs and tell the audience about the song origins. Hope they travel this way again next year!

Suzy was great, as she's always been, she's still beautiful too. The venue is small, maybe that's why she didn't have her full band. Staff was extremely cordial, plenty of free parking, about a half mile walk to anywhere to eat. Safe area.

Suzy Boggus was great. She is a fabulous entertainer. Suzy spent a long time on stage and everyone in the place enjoyed her. I have seen her many times on the Opry and many times at county fairs. She will never disappoint her fans.

Suzy is a dear friend of my husband. Going back to the Statler Brother days, she is an awesome performer. We had a great time and will be at the next show that is close to our hometown.

Suzy was fantastic. Her STAR quality can not be underestimated. She was funny, engaged the audience and voice was studio quality. Her lead guitar (from Scotland northern islands) was fantastic. So glad we went…

She gave a down to earth, honest performance. Her voice is as good as ever and she interacts joyfully with the crowd. I’ve seen her before and I’ll see her again next time she’s at Dakota.
